After
17 very good months with the Bulletin Newspapers, James OÕBrien joins the
team at Boston's brand new Boston
NOW. Launching 04.17.2007, Boston NOW is a new venture in every sense of the phrase. A free daily available within a 40-mile radius of the city, Boston NOW includes bloggers in its pages, readership in its news meetings via live Web site access (readers and watch and interact via their computers real-time at 9:45 every morning), and an unprecedented level of video and podcast in its content.

10.29.2006 NEW WEB SITE: Cinescare.com
A year of behind the
scenes work culminated Tuesday, Oct. 31 with the soft launch of Cinescare. Throughout my life, horror films
have informed, challenged, entertained and, yes, scared me. Now the project
is to represent them as valuable storytelling in an ancient tradition of
important human stories. Cinescare takes the discussion of horror cinema from the eternally
adolescent (but admittedly amusing) ghetto into which the genre is often
relegated and lifts into the realm of intelligent, envigorating and
significant art. Not every film survives that journey, but even the failed
teach us something about the human condition and our societal environment.
Visit, delve, enjoy. I hope you come to love what Cinescare is about as
much as I do.
